Have you heard about Stepping Stone Festival? It might sound strange to you, but there’s a free music festival held right in the middle of the natural beauty of Jeju Island over two days. It’s been running for over 10 years already! If you want to spend your summer days by the emerald waters at Hamdeok Beach listening to rock and ska music, come to Stepping Stone! The musicians will be playing right on the beautiful coral beach.
Being the Stepping Stone for Jeju music culture, many well-known Korean artists such as 3rd Line Butterfly, Galaxy Express, Kang San Ae, Seoul Electric Band, and Guckkasten have appeared on the stage just for the great chance to promote local music without getting paid. The festival also donates some of money made from selling food and beverages towards saving the environment. In addition, diverse bands from Japan and elsewhere are often invited to play. Why don’t you leave for Jeju this summer to enjoy music, people and nature? It will be the most ‘authentic’ festival you’ve ever experienced.
Take bus number 38 from between gate 1 & 2 at Jeju bus terminal. Get off the bus at Hamdeok Beach.
